I BLOG FOR FUN...

Feel free to pin photo's from this blog...I'm not one of those blogger's that will flip out and go on a rant about you "stealing" my photo's because you liked it enough to share it, lol. I am not a "professional decorator, cook, gardener" or "professional" anything else....I BLOG FOR FUN. Nope....not one of the perfect blogger's here. My house is not perfect, and you will never be led to believe it is. I simply cannot offer you "how-to's", nor will I leave comment's on your blog offering decorating advice...sorry. If you are one of the "professional blogger's" as I refer to so many of them these days, I simply am not interested in your invite to your linky parties...with YOUR strict instructions to follow YOUR rules, lol, in order to increase YOUR traffic. If your not here for enjoyment, then this simply isn't the blog for you.

Bacon wrapped jalapeno/cream cheese chicken popper's

Ok, I "happened" upon this recipe on pinterest one day, and thankfully read it and remembered it, because the recipe that I used has since "disappeared" and there is only a picture showing up, so I have no idea who to give credit to, and I truly do believe in giving credit where it is due. Anyhoo, regardless of who came up with this recipe, it is fabulous!! I took pics to show ya'll, I only wish you could taste it.

This is hubby's plate. They can be "kinda" low calorie if you choose for them to be, but obviously he didn't.

First, take chicken (I use tenderloin) and tenderize with mallot, and salt and pepper it really good. Take one serving of cream cheese and place on top of chicken. Take washed, de-seeded, halved jalapeno and place on top of cream cheese.
Use two pieces of bacon per chicken, criss-cross like above, and put chicken on top of bacon.

Fold bacon across chicken, and it should look like this. Spray baking dish, and place in oven, covered with aluminum foil, bake on 375 for at least 45 minutes. Remove from oven and take foil off, bake for another 15 minutes, or until bacon is golden brown and crisp.
This is the end product.

This is my plate, you have already seen hubby's above. I had a salad with mine. It is also good served over rice, topped with that awesome gravy form the cream cheese.

This is it cut open, with a bit of the gravy on it. Oh, ok,  after I took this pic, I piled the gravy on!! Really, all  I had with it was a little bitty salad!

This is for Sophie's Aunt Sharon tomorrow. She loves them, but she doesn't like to cook!

Try it sometime, and let me know how you like it!

Fall at the farm.......in the past

I'm not quite ready to reveal our fall farm decor just yet, so I thought I would share some of the old decor that I have used on the farm in the past. Oh, did I mention it is so hot here in Mississippi that you can hardly breath, so it is not feeling much like fall.

Some of you may remember Farmer and Mrs. P from last year?? They were dressed in their finest for this photo, surrounded by mums and pumpkins. Farmer P doesn't really care about all of this, but this is Mrs. P's  favorite time of year, and she usually goes all out.

Mrs. P had the "less is more" attitude last year, but things will be quite different this year. She is not quite finished decorating, but she has already had folks stopping and taking pictures, and one lady asked her just today if she could dress all of her kiddo's and bring them over for a picture on the porch. Of coarse that tickled Mrs. P.

Ya'll know there will be roo's in most all of the fall decor, well, probably all of the decor that Mrs. P does.

Roo's inside and out!

The mantle is quite different this year....you'll see soon enough.

Just a closer up of the mantle.

Ok, so this is not exactly a fall photo, but isn't she just a doll??

Oh, and do ya'll remember this from year before last, I think it was a southern living recipe?? Maybe a cream cheese apple bundt cake with praline icing?? I'll betcha there may be one at the farm this year because ya'll know how Mrs. P just loves to cook!

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of blogging and visiting now that summer is almost over with. Can't wait to see everyone's fall decor.

Oh, how I long for this....

For those of you that know me, then you already know that I LOVE fall. It is my favorite season, all the way up to Thanksgiving (which is my favorite holiday). Since I am longing for my favorite season, I have been going thru old pictures of fall on our farm. Take a look.....

Are you ready for fall, or do you prefer to hang on to summer-time as long as you can??

I am 4 today

Yes, today is my birthday. It was four years ago tonight that my mama found me in the road and brought me home with her. She was just going to feed me, and find me a good home ........and that is exactly what she did! Do you remember what I looked like when she found me?? Remember, my daddy said I was really ugly? He kept saying that I had a face that only a mother could love!

This is me snuggling with my daddy when they first found me. I started immediately winning him over.

Look at us here. I have him wrapped around my little paw. I even let him take naps on the couch with me. He is so glad he talked my mama into letting me stay with them forever.

As soon as my daddy gets home from work, I am gonna open my presents. Oh, I hope I get lots of new toys, and some tootsie rolls.

She is here!!

If you recall, we ordered a new fifth wheel a while back.  She is beautiful! (yes, it is a she). She arrived about two weeks early, so when the phone call came yesterday saying she was here, it was a huge surprise, but a pleasant one.

This is the third camper we have bought in three years from this dealer, and this salesman, so he had a surprise for me when I got there.
This is the fifth wheel that they had waiting for me when I rounded the corner,  with my camera in hand, to see our new "forever" camper. Our salesman was doubled over from laughing so hard at this prank! He thought it was really cute, because he knew we were so excited about seeing the new camper.
Needless to say, this wasn't it!

They had her pulled around  back so that she could be plugged in and the air on. It was so cool and comfortable inside. This is Mr. Easley, our prankster salesman, and of coarse Sophie, in her new recliner.

She has a rear kitchen, with lots of counter space (for a small camper), and fun decor. I cannot wait to add some personal touches and make her feel "homey" and cozy.

I finally have a sink large enough to wash dishes in whenever needed, and a counter top with enough space to put them to dry. Ya'll know it is the little things that make me happy.

This is hubby scratching his head because he can't find anything to complain about :)

This is a view from the stairs.

Hubby checking out some of the new toys.

Hubby trying to decide where the bedroom tv will be installed. Oh surely you don't think you can go camping unless you have a tv in each room, do ya??

Hubby and Sophie trying to decide if they like the new couch, or their matching recliner's the best?? The couch really is quite comfortable for a "camper" couch. It also lets out into a queen bed :)

Sophie has room to get in the floor and play in this one. See those cabinet doors open under the tv?? It was being measured for the fireplace (big smile).

A queen bed in the bedroom, and I love the fact that the bedroom is off to itself . It can be totally shut off if one of us wants to sleep late :)

Can we please go now??

Unfortunately, we won't get to camp for a while because hubby's truck has not yet been equipped to pull her, so she is still at the dealership. That will all be taken care of Wednesday, and we will bring her home next week-end. She will be stocked immediately with all of her belongings, and hopefully taken out for her first camping trip really soon.

Come by and eat with us...

Yes, it is an open invitation. Ya'll know that I love to cook. I hate to start using up my "stash" so early, but I have had a long day, been in the road most of it, and just didn't feel like putting forth a lot of effort to prepare a meal, so........I just pulled out a jar of my semi-home-made pasta sauce. Take a look. Can you smell it??

Go ahead, take a bite. You know a good cook always taste of everything before they serve it. Well, actually, I taste it so many times, I am usually too full to eat by the time it is all prepared :)

It all started with fresh tomatoes from our garden.

Then a packet of this mix.

Of coarse the directions do not call for this pesto sauce, but I use a jar of it in mine, along with a can or two of tomato paste for thickening. Actually, the sky is the limit, and you can add anything you want. Garlic and fresh herbs would probably be good also.

I don't remember how many jars I ended up with, but while eating tonight hubby was kind enough to suggest that I do another batch or two while we still have fresh tomatoes :)

I use the five cheese ravioli from the freezer section at wal-mart. Just boil, drain, and mix with the heated pasta sauce. (You can use any pasta you like, this is just my preference.)

Top with your favorite cheese, if you choose,  and I love this one.

There has been a lot of corn cutting around here too. I did this one cream style, so if you don't like the pasta dish, we can fix you some fresh veggies. Either way, if you stop by, you won't leave hungry :)

They are gone...

Summer time at the farm has led to some pretty big changes. Hubby has decided to let go of a few of his "boy-toys". He hasn't seen these pictures yet, but I will show them to you.

This is "Old Orange", as I called him,  he was the first to go. I thought hubby was going to cry when he left, but, he went to a local man who is going to give him a much better home. He is going to re-paint him and give him the attention that he needs. He has been driving him around and showing him off, so old orange really does have a better home.

This one was the "Old Navy" truck. Do you remember when Old Navy actually had these trucks sitting inside their stores??  I advertised this one and the red one on Craigslist on Sunday night, and they both sold on Monday to the first man that came to look. I wish I had a few more to sell because that was three weeks ago, and I have gotten numerous calls everyday since, and I finally deleted them off yesterday.

Some of you may remember this one. I got to use it in my fall decor last year. I knew the love was gone when he let it come out of the shop and be exposed to the weather for days.

These are the two men who bought the 51 and 52. They were just like two little boys with brand new toys. They were so funny, and nice.

Are you wondering what will replace them?? I will show you as soon as it gets here. We ordered a new fifth wheel this week, and it should arrive sometime in August :)
